Family Star received the Early Head Start Grant in October of 1995.

In February of 1997, with the help of an Early Head Start grant, Family Star was able to open a 2nd site at 2246 Federal Boulevard, in Denver, Colorado. This grant has created an opportunity for an additional 75 children, and supports comprehensive family services for all Family Star families.

Seventy percent of the families are low-income. The Early Head Start grant also helps provide enriching support services for these families.
