Admissions

Family Star Montessori provides high-quality, authentic Montessori education alongside comprehensive family supports for children from infancy through the primary years. Rooted in a commitment to access and opportunity, our programs are designed to serve families across a wide range of economic backgrounds. Through our federally funded Head Start programs, many families qualify for no-cost or subsidized care, while full-tuition options are also available.

We are equally committed to fostering an inclusive and welcoming community. Family Star admits children of all backgrounds and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, sex, gender, or creed in the administration of our educational programs or admissions practices.

Families may choose from one of our two centrally located schools or our home-based education option  – each thoughtfully designed to meet families where they are and support what works best for their child.

Application & Waitlist

If you feel Family Star Montessori is the right fit for your family, we invite you to begin the admissions process:

  1. Complete the application
  2. Submit the $100 administrative fee (applicable to private pay families only)

Once both steps are complete, your application will be processed and your family will be placed on our waitlist list.

When a space becomes available, you will be contacted by a School Director or Home-Based Manager with details about the next steps for enrollment.

Enrollment

Before placement can be finalized, caregivers must:

  1. Complete the enrollment packet
  2. Submit a $500 tuition deposit, which will be applied to your first month’s tuition (applicable to private pay families only)

Available spaces are filled based on the date a completed application is received, with priority given to siblings of currently enrolled children.

If a space is not available at the time of application, children will be placed on a waitlist and admitted as openings occur.

Monthly Tuition

Family Star offers a limited number of private pay tuition slots at each of our schools. The actual monthly cost of care is $3,610 (Nido), $3,930 (Toddler), and $2,501 (Primary); amounts that are significantly higher than the tuition rates we offer below.

Thanks to generous philanthropic support and strong community partnerships, we are able to keep tuition as affordable as possible for families.

What Monthly Tuition Includes

Monthly tuition at Family Star Montessori reflects the full scope of care, education, and support your child receives each day. Tuition includes:

  • Full-day, year-round Montessori education in a prepared, nurturing environment
  • Low student-to-teacher ratios with highly trained educators
  • Breakfast, lunch, and nutritious snacks provided daily
  • Diapers and wipes for infants and toddlers
  • Ongoing developmental observation and family communication
  • Access to health, mental health, and family support resources
  • Enrichment through hands-on Montessori materials and experiences

Our goal is to provide a seamless, high-quality experience for both children and families—so you can focus on your child’s growth, not the extras.

Family Star Montessori offers subsidized care for eligible families. Tuition assistance can come from:

  • Early Head Start/Head Start
